🚀 Launch of GT RECAST: REasoning on Complex And Structured daTa
We are excited to announce the official creation of the GT RECAST (REasoning on Complex And Structured daTa) on January 1st, 2025.
GT RECAST is a joint working group of the GDR MaDICS and GDR RADIA, dedicated to advancing research on:
- Complex data management (massive, heterogeneous, temporal, uncertain, or incomplete datasets)
- Knowledge representation and reasoning (symbolic, probabilistic, neuro-symbolic approaches)
The group builds on the legacy of previous initiatives such as RoD (2017–2020) and ROCED (2021–2023), extending their scope to address new challenges at the intersection of data science and artificial intelligence.
Our main objectives are to:
- Bring together researchers from different communities working on databases, AI, and knowledge graphs.
- Foster discussions on reasoning techniques over complex and uncertain data.
- Encourage exchanges between symbolic and machine learning approaches.
- Support collaborations on emerging societal and industrial applications (e.g., ecology, health, digital agriculture).
The group is co-led by Camille Bourgaux (DI ENS, CNRS), Hazaël Jones (ITAP, Institut Agro Montpellier), and Pierre-Henri Paris (LISN, Université Paris-Saclay).
We warmly invite colleagues from the MaDICS and RADIA networks, as well as beyond, to join the discussions and contribute to shaping the activities of GT RECAST.
